I don't know. It's a sweet picture. That baby is really cute.

I think it kind of confirms them because they guy is supposed to be the protector.

Yup.

DO YOU THINK IT APPROPRIATELY PROMOTES WHAT GAP AIMS TO SELL?
I'm not sure. You can't really tell if this is for the baby 's clothes or the guy's. If the goal is what you said, to take care of people in Africa, it shows that because a father is the ultimate symbol of a protector and provider.

DOES THIS AD ENCOURAGE OR DISCOURAGE YOU, PERSONALLY, IN BUYING THE PRODUCTS ADVERTISED? HOW?
I think anytime you use little kids in advertising you draw in a whole new demograpic. It takes the tough guy edge off and shows people that they can still look cool and be a good dad. I don't know if it really swings me in one way or the other, though.
